Mangaluru: Kadroli Jama Masjid Hosts ‘Open Day’ to Promote Interfaith Harmony

Mangaluru (Fikrokhabarnews): In a powerful gesture of unity and openness, the Kadroli Jamia Masjid in Mangaluru hosted an ‘Open Day’ on Sunday, inviting people from all religious backgrounds to visit the mosque and learn about Islamic practices and teachings.
Organised by the Kadroli Jamia Masjid Management Committee, in collaboration with the Muslim Unity Forum Kadroli and Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mangaluru, the event ran from 12 noon to 7 pm, drawing visitors from various faiths who engaged in open dialogue and cultural exchange.
The event was inaugurated by Lakshmesh Gabladka, member of the Dakshina Kannada District Religious Council, who lauded the initiative. “While we close our eyes in prayer, such moments open our inner eyes,” he said, underlining the spiritual significance of interfaith engagement.
Father Valerian D’Souza of the Holy Rosary Church highlighted that the true essence of all religions lies in love and mutual respect. He encouraged communities to learn about each other’s places of worship, stating that such initiatives are essential for promoting peaceful coexistence.

The event was presided over by KS Muhammad Masood, President of the Kadroli Jamia Masjid. Ishaq Pattor, President of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Mangaluru North, delivered a heartfelt address highlighting the Prophetic message of peace and coexistence.
Among others present were Mufti Sheikh Muthar Hussain Qasmi, Kadroli Khazi; Riazul Haq Rashadi, Khatib of Shah Ameer Masjid; and former corporators Abu Bakar and Abdul Aziz.

The program began with the recitation of the Holy Quran by Maulana Shafiullah, with translation provided by Asif Hussain. KM Ashraf delivered the welcome address, and Muhammad Ali Kammardi conducted the proceedings.
Participants appreciated the opportunity to experience the mosque’s architecture, rituals, and hospitality firsthand. The event served not only as a platform for cultural exchange but also as a reminder of the shared values of compassion, justice, and unity that run through all religions.
