Main Global Sumud Flotilla Ship Bombed by Suspected Drone in Tunisian Waters

Yasemin Acar, a participant in the Global Sumud Flotilla, confirmed that the group’s principal boat, named “Family,” was attacked by a drone in Tunisian territory. The incident, witnessed by multiple activists and reported across social media, involved the drone releasing a bomb directly onto the vessel and starting a fire. Thankfully, all crew and participants aboard—including steering committee members—are unharmed, and the fire was extinguished quickly.
Acar commented on Instagram, “The Family boat has been officially attacked. A drone came right above it, released a bomb and it exploded. The boat was on fire. Everyone on that boat is ok. The fire is out.” She added, “They have bombed a boat once again, with civilians on it, in Tunisian territory. This is an attack against Gaza because they don’t want us there.”
The attack is being widely condemned by activists and supporters globally, who view it as a deliberate strike on an unarmed civilian humanitarian mission. Witnesses and flotilla organizers insist this act will not deter their campaign to break the siege of Gaza and deliver urgently needed aid to the population.
