Shivamogga, September 17, 2025: In a race against time, a critically ill 21-year-old was transported from Shivamogga to Manipal on Wednesday through a special “zero-traffic” corridor created by the police. The emergency measure ensured the ambulance could travel the 100-kilometer distance without any delays to get the patient life-saving treatment.

The patient, Shreyank, a resident of Thirthahalli, was admitted to Shivamogga Metro Hospital on Tuesday with a severe fever. His health quickly declined, resulting in the failure of multiple organs. Doctors determined his condition was critical and advised his family that he needed immediate, advanced medical care available at Manipal Hospital.

Understanding the urgency, Shreyank’s family coordinated with local authorities for the transfer. The Shivamogga West Traffic Police, under the leadership of PSI Thirumalesh, took immediate action to clear the entire route. Their quick work in setting up the green corridor allowed the ambulance to proceed without interruption, highlighting the vital role of teamwork between departments in handling medical emergencies.
