Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): In a special gathering of alumni at Jamia Islamia Bhatkal on Thursday evening, the travelogue collection “Rah-e-Naward-e-Shoq” by Maulana Sam’an Khalifa Nadwi, a teacher at the institution, was formally released. The launch was graced by Maulana Syed Bilal Hasani Nadwi, Nazim of Nadwatul Ulama Lucknow, and Maulana Umair Al-Siddiq Nadwi, associate of Dar al-Musannifin (Shibli Academy).

The nearly 400-page book offers a captivating account of Maulana Sam’an’s journeys through several African countries, as well as China, Nepal, and Gujarat. Beyond being a simple travel diary, it reflects on the religious, social, and intellectual conditions of Muslim communities in those regions. The author highlights the spiritual zeal, hospitality, and thirst for Islamic knowledge among Muslims abroad and calls on scholars and benefactors to pay greater attention to their educational and religious needs.

Describing “Rah-e-Naward-e-Shoq” as more than a record of travel, Maulana Sam’an writes that it is an invitation to reflection — a reminder that the light of faith and knowledge must continue to illuminate every corner of the world.

In his preface, Maulana Syed Bilal Hasani Nadwi noted that the book brings together several travelogues written at different times, encompassing diverse journeys. He recalled that the China travelogue, published earlier, was well received and carried prayers from the late Hazrat Maulana Syed Muhammad Rabey Hasani Nadwi. He praised Maulana Sam’an for his keen observation and literary insight, expressing hope that he would continue exploring new horizons and sharing the hidden realities of the world.

Maulana Umair Al-Siddiq Nadwi, in his detailed commentary, affectionately described Maulana Sam’an as a “young Ibn Battuta.” Reflecting on his travelogue “China Mere Aage,” he wrote that the author’s vivid descriptions make the reader a companion on his journeys — sharing his wonder, joy, and reflections. He added that the author’s African journeys in particular reflect courage, vision, and a deep sense of spiritual responsibility, offering rare insights into the continent’s vibrant faith and humanity.

The book has been published by the Publications Division of Idarah Adab-e-Atfal, Bhatkal, and is being hailed as a significant addition to modern Urdu travel literature.
