Kumta Youth Mysteriously Goes Missing in Bhatkal While Shopping for Wedding
Zakir Baig had recently returned from Muscat for his wedding preparations; police begin investigation after sudden disappearance.
Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): In a disturbing turn of events, a 32-year-old youth from Kumta, Zakir Baig, has gone missing under mysterious circumstances during a visit to Bhatkal for wedding shopping. His sudden disappearance has left the family in deep distress, prompting a police investigation from multiple angles.
According to family sources, Zakir had recently returned to India from Muscat, Oman, to prepare for his upcoming wedding, scheduled for 2nd November. On 17th October, he traveled to Bhatkal along with his sister-in-law and niece, reportedly to purchase gold jewelry for the ceremony.
Upon arriving in Bhatkal, Zakir dropped the accompanying women at a relative’s house in the Gulmi area and proceeded to offer Friday prayers at Noor Masjid. However, he never returned after the prayers.
Family members tried contacting him, but his mobile phone was found switched off, increasing their concerns. His brother, Ghafoor Baig, revealed that Zakir also intended to exchange Omani currency in Bhatkal on the same day, raising fears that he may have been targeted due to money or valuables.
Police have since registered a missing person’s case and launched an investigation. CCTV footage from Noor Masjid reportedly shows Zakir exiting the mosque while checking his phone.
Bhatkal Police Inspector Diwakar confirmed that the investigation is ongoing, and police are currently analyzing his mobile location data and call records to trace his movements.
Authorities have appealed to the public to come forward with any information that may help locate Zakir Baig. Anyone with details is urged to contact Bhatkal Police Station immediately.
