To manage the expected rise in travel during the festive season, the Karnataka State Road Transport Corporation has announced the deployment of 2,000 special buses for passengers travelling during Ugadi and Ramadan.

The additional services aim to handle the surge in passenger traffic across Karnataka and nearby states, ensuring smooth and convenient travel for commuters and pilgrims.

According to KSRTC, the special buses will operate from March 18 to March 20 from Bengaluru to various destinations. Return services to Bengaluru are scheduled for March 22.

Buses will depart mainly from Kempegowda Bus Station and Mysuru Road Bus Station. Services will also be arranged from taluk and district-level bus stations depending on passenger demand.

Passengers can book their tickets online through the official KSRTC website or reserve seats at computerized booking counters available at KSRTC depots across Karnataka and in select interstate locations.

KSRTC officials have also announced special festive discounts for passengers. Groups of four or more people who book tickets in advance will receive a 5% discount. Additionally, passengers who book both onward and return tickets together will be eligible for a 10% discount on the return journey.

The special bus services will connect Bengaluru with several major destinations, including Dharmasthala, Kukke Subrahmanya, Shivamogga, Hassan, Mangaluru, Kundapura, Sringeri, Horanadu, Davanagere, Hubballi, Dharwad, Belagavi, Vijayapura, Gokarna, Sirsi, Karwar, Raichur, Kalaburagi, Ballari, Koppal, Yadgir, Bidar, Mysuru, Hunsur, Periyapatna, Virajpet, Kushalnagar, and Madikeri.

In addition, interstate routes will connect passengers to cities such as Tirupati, Vijayawada, and Hyderabad.

The initiative is part of KSRTC’s efforts to provide safe, convenient, and affordable transportation during the festive season while reducing congestion on busy travel routes.
