Karnataka Set for Widespread Rains Until October 29, IMD Forecasts
A low-pressure system over the Arabian Sea is expected to bring showers to most districts, with a special advisory issued for fishermen.

Bengaluru: The India Meteorological Department (IMD) has announced a forecast for widespread rainfall across Karnataka, expected to continue until October 29. This weather pattern is due to a low-pressure area forming over the Arabian Sea.
According to the weather office, coastal areas like Dakshina Kannada, Uttara Kannada, and Udupi will likely see moderate to heavy showers, particularly at night. The hilly districts, including Kodagu, Hassan, Chikkamagaluru, and Shivamogga, are also expected to get good rainfall in the evening hours.
In the northern interior parts of the state, widespread rain is predicted for districts such as Dharwad, Haveri, Gadag, and Ballari. Other areas like Belagavi, Vijayapura, and Kalaburagi are likely to experience scattered rainfall with thunderstorms.
For the southern interior, light to moderate rain is expected in Mysuru, Chamarajanagar, and Mandya. Meanwhile, Bengaluru Urban, Bengaluru Rural, Kolar, and Tumakuru may see rain accompanied by thunderstorms in the evening or at night.
The IMD has also issued an advisory for fishermen, cautioning them against going into the sea from October 21 to 23. Wind speeds along the Karnataka coast are expected to reach up to 55 kmph during this time.
