BENGALURU: Karnataka has been placed on high alert following Monday evening’s explosion near the Red Fort in Delhi. Security has been strengthened at key locations and crowded areas across the state.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah said he has instructed the police to stay vigilant and ensure strict security measures. Speaking to reporters in Mysuru, he confirmed that the state police chief has been directed to maintain tight surveillance.

Director General and Inspector General of Police M.A. Saleem told The New Indian Express that all district police heads have been ordered to remain alert, increase night patrolling, and conduct thorough checks at public places. Security at Bengaluru’s Metro stations has also been tightened.

Soon after the blast, Bengaluru police and other security agencies increased vigilance at major transport hubs including bus terminals, metro and railway stations, and the Kempegowda International Airport, where CISF personnel intensified checks.

Police are also gathering details from hotels and lodges on recent check-ins and have asked owners to report any suspicious individuals.

Chief Minister Siddaramaiah posted on X that preventive measures have been taken to ensure peace across Karnataka. He appealed to citizens to extend full cooperation to the police in maintaining security and public order.
