Karnataka Govt Considers Moving High Court from Cubbon Park
Deputy CM says new site within Bengaluru is being explored due to traffic and space issues.

The Karnataka government is looking at relocating the High Court building from Cubbon Park, Deputy Chief Minister D.K. Shivakumar announced on Sunday. He said the move is being considered because of increasing traffic and public activity in the area, which is making it difficult for people to access the court.
Shivakumar spoke after attending an event organized by Nyayamitra Co-operative Bank. He mentioned that several advocates and the Chief Justice have asked the government to find 15 to 20 acres of land for a new High Court complex. “We will discuss this within the government and talk to the judiciary to find a suitable location nearby,” he said.
The Deputy CM made it clear that the High Court will not be moved outside Bengaluru. Instead, the government is searching for a new site within the city limits that is convenient for lawyers and people who come to court. Some have suggested using the Race Course area, but legal issues need to be checked before any decision is made.
Shivakumar also instructed officials to install advanced surveillance cameras in Cubbon Park. The Commissioner’s office will be able to monitor the area live to improve safety and security.
