Karnataka CM Siddaramaiah Paid Tribute to Ameer-e-Shariyath Maulana Saghir Ahmad Khan Rashadi

BENGALURU: Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah on Tuesday Paid Tribute to the late Hazrat Maulana Saghir Ahmad Khan Rashadi Saheb, the Ameer-e-Shariyath of Karnataka and head of the renowned Darul Uloom Sabeel ur Rashad institution.

The Chief Minister visited Sabeel ur Rashad on January 13, 2026, where he offered condolences to the bereaved family and prayed for the departed soul. Several cabinet colleagues, senior leaders and other dignitaries accompanied him during the visit, expressing solidarity with the family and followers of the late scholar.

Speaking on the occasion, Siddaramaiah remembered Maulana Rashadi Saheb as a towering religious leader and educationist whose services to society would be remembered for generations. He said the Maulana’s life was dedicated to spreading knowledge, compassion and spiritual values, and his contribution to religious and educational institutions had a lasting impact on the community.

Earlier in the day, the Chief Minister was in Mysuru, where he spoke to reporters at the airport on issues related to the upcoming state budget and local body elections. He later returned to Bengaluru to attend the condolence visit. Senior Congress leader and MLA KJ George and other prominent personalities were also present.

Maulana Saghir Ahmad Khan Rashadi Saheb was widely respected for his scholarship, moral leadership and commitment to education. As the head of Darul Uloom Sabeel ur Rashad and Ameer-e-Shariyath of Karnataka, he played a key role in guiding religious and social thought across the state.

Leaders and citizens across Karnataka have expressed deep sorrow over his passing, describing his demise as a significant loss to the religious and educational landscape of the state. Prayers were offered for the eternal peace of the departed soul and for strength to his family, students and followers during this period of grief.
