JIH Eid Get-Together 2026 Promotes Dialogue, Unity and Global Peace
Jamaat-e-Islami Hind chief calls for compassion, understanding, and collective responsibility at Delhi gathering

New Delhi: Jamaat-e-Islami Hind hosted its annual Eid Get-Together 2026 in the national capital, bringing together diplomats, religious leaders, public representatives, and members of civil society in a celebration of unity and shared values.
The event was held on March 27 at the lawns of India Habitat Centre, providing a platform for meaningful interaction beyond cultural and religious boundaries during the occasion of Eid al-Fitr.
Addressing the gathering, JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini highlighted the deeper purpose of such celebrations, stressing that festivals like Eid should help strengthen human connections. He said the occasion is not confined to religious identity but serves as a bridge to foster mutual understanding and shared belonging.
Speaking about the core values of Islam, Husaini emphasized principles such as equality, dignity, justice, and compassion. He noted that Eid is not merely about outward celebration but also about inner transformation, reflection, and gratitude after the holy month of Ramadan.
He urged people to look beyond rituals and focus on becoming better individuals, stating that the true essence of Eid lies in positive change and renewed commitment to humanity.
Referring to the current social climate in India, Husaini described it as a “critical phase” where values like patience, empathy, and dialogue are essential. He underlined that India’s diversity should be seen as a strength and called for greater understanding instead of division.
He also advocated for building a culture of dialogue over confrontation, encouraging people to listen, engage, and work towards fairness and trust in society. According to him, harmony comes not from the absence of differences but from mutual understanding.
Touching upon global issues, the JIH leader expressed concern over ongoing conflicts and humanitarian crises around the world. He stressed that human suffering transcends borders and called for collective efforts to promote peace and justice.
As the organization marks over 75 years of its presence, the event reflected its continued focus on promoting the true message of Islam and contributing to a compassionate and inclusive society.
The evening concluded on a hopeful note, with participants reaffirming their commitment to coexistence, dialogue, and stronger social bonds in an increasingly divided world.
