Jamia Islamia Bhatkal Hosts Inter-Maktab Quran Memorization Competition
Twenty-seven students from three maktabs competed in a three-tier Hifz-e-Quran competition, showcasing their memorization skills

Bhatkal – Jamia Islamia Bhatkal successfully organized a “Bainul Makatib” (Inter-Maktab) Quran memorization competition, bringing together 27 talented students from three different Islamic schools in the region.
The competition, which tested students’ ability to memorize and recite the Holy Quran, featured participants from Maktab Jamia Islamia Nawayat Colony, Maktab Jamia Islamia Kargadde, and Maktab Jamia Islamia Chok Bazar.
Competition Structure
Students were divided into three categories based on their memorization level. The first group, Darja Ulya (Upper Grade), tested memorization of 15 Juz. The second group, Darja Wusta (Middle Grade), covered 10 Juz, while the third group, Darja Sufla (Lower Grade), focused on 5 Juz.
The event opened with a beautiful Qirat recitation by Anees Donnae, followed by a Naat presented by Ali, son of Altaf Hawwa.
Moulavi Abdul Wasi Peshmam, the event convener, announced the competition results and distributed prizes to the winners.
In the Upper Grade category, Syed Saqlain, son of Syed Sabit SK, secured first place. Obaidullah, son of Kazim Armar, came second, while Mohammed Rafeef, son of Mohammed Ismail Ayudrusa, finished third.
The Middle Grade category saw Samaan, son of Shahid Hussain Mohtesham, claim the top position. Tanzeel Ahmed, son of Mohsin Gawai, took second place, and Abu Bakr, son of Ismail Khalifa, earned third place.
In the Lower Grade category, Mohammed Rayyan, son of Rashid Ahmed Qazi, won first place. Abdullah, son of Qamar-uz-Zaman Armar, secured second position, while Mohiddin, son of Ayub Sukri, came third.
The event was graced by several respected scholars, including Moulana Talha Ruknuddin Nadwi, Moulana Maqbool Kobattee Nadwi, Moulana Afzal Shabandari Nadwi, and Moulana Ilyas Jakti Nadwi.
The program was expertly anchored by Hafiz Moulavi Abdul Qavi Siddiqua Nadwi, Hafiz Moulavi Usaid Aydrusa, and Hafiz Moulavi Sawood Shingati, who kept the event flowing smoothly throughout the competition.
The successful completion of this inter-maktab competition highlights the commitment of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal toward promoting Quranic education and encouraging young students in their memorization journey.
