Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal Annual Meeting Stresses Adherence to Sharia and Internal Dispute Resolution

Bhatkal: Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal held its annual general meeting on Friday at the Jama Masjid, bringing together community leaders and members to review the organization’s progress and set a course for the future. The central message of the evening focused on living a life guided by Sharia and strengthening the community’s internal systems for resolving family disputes.
The event, which began after the Isha prayer, featured keynote addresses from several prominent figures. Maulana Mohammed Ansar Khateeb Nadvi Madani, the Deputy Qazi, emphasized the importance and effectiveness of the community’s judicial body, the Mahkama-e-Sharia. He strongly encouraged members to turn to this department to solve marital and family conflicts, suggesting they first attempt mediation through family elders. Maulana Ansar detailed the challenges and complexities of taking family matters to government courts, describing it as contrary to the principles of a Muslim’s life.
Echoing this sentiment, Jamaat President Mr. Shafi Shahbandri Patel called on the community to remain firmly connected to the Jamaat’s system and, above all, to follow the commandments of Allah.
The meeting also served to update the community on the Jamaat’s activities over the past year. General Secretary Maulana Mohammed Hussain Jukaku Nadvi presented a comprehensive annual report for 2024-2025, covering the work of various departments, including Preaching (Shoba-e-Tableegh), Forbidding Evil (Shoba-e-Nahi anil Munkar), the Mosques Committee, and the Reconciliation Committee. He thanked the community for their continued cooperation. Following this, Mr. Sadiq Pilloor presented a detailed financial report on the Jamaat’s income and expenses.
In his welcoming remarks, Trustee Maulana Abdul Aleem Qasmi reminded the audience of the sacrifices made by their ancestors to establish the Jama Masjid and the community system, urging the current generation to maintain their strong bond with the Jamaat.
The program was interactive, with a session for questions and answers where officials addressed public concerns. Several attendees also shared their feedback and offered suggestions, which the leadership assured would be given serious consideration. The meeting concluded with a collective Dua (supplication).
