Jamaat-e-Islami Hind Equips Social Media Influencers with Skills for Positive Content Creation in Bangalore Workshop

Bangalore: The Social Media Desk of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind (JIH), Karnataka, hosted a special one-day training workshop for social media influencers and online content creators at the Ashirwad Centre in Bangalore. The event drew dozens of young participants from Bangalore and various districts across the state.
The workshop focused on understanding the current media environment, its challenges, and developing effective strategies to build a positive narrative online.
In his presidential address, Dr. Saad Belgami, Ameer of JIH Karnataka, described social media as a powerful tool. “In today’s world, social media is a great weapon that can be used to deliver the message of religion and truth to millions of people without significant expense,” he said. Citing Quranic verses, he noted that while challenges and propaganda will always exist, it is our duty to counter them with wisdom and insight. He stressed the need for organized and collective efforts to ensure their message reaches society in a more effective and positive way.
Abdussalam Puthige, Editor of Vartha Bharathi, advised participants to focus on presenting the true essence of Islam rather than spending time answering objections. “Muslims have a wealth of academic and historical material related to Islam,” he stated. “The need is to present it in a modern and attractive way to create a positive impact on society.” He also highlighted the importance of studying media ownership and user behavior for a better analysis of the current situation.
Other media professionals also shared their expertise. Rafiq Saheb, a senior journalist from Udayavani, spoke on the great responsibility that comes with media work. He urged creators to carefully consider the positive and negative effects of their content before publishing to prevent causing harm in the community.
The workshop also included technical sessions. Hamza Muzzammil Ali, a digital media expert, delivered a detailed presentation on YouTube monetization, website growth, and understanding algorithms. He provided practical tips on increasing traffic through Search Engine Optimization (SEO) and shared examples of common mistakes to avoid. Similarly, Irshad from Deccan Herald offered practical advice on producing high-quality and engaging video content.
Labeed Shafi, Media Secretary of JIH, explained that the main goal of the program was to unite social media activists on a single platform to make their collective efforts more successful.
The event saw influencers attend from all over the state, including districts like Gadag, Bijapur, Mangaluru, Bhatkal, Raichur, Bidar, and Gulbarga. The program was hosted by Deputy Media Secretary Talha Siddibapa, and the vote of thanks was presented by Mohammed Peer Ludgiri.
