Israel’s Defence Minister Declares ‘Long Arm’ Will Hunt Hamas Globally Amid Reckless Airstrikes in Qatar

Israel’s Defence Minister Israel Katz has openly declared that Israel will pursue Hamas militants “everywhere,” revealing a dangerous doctrine of global military reach. Katz’s statement came shortly after Israel’s brazen and unlawful airstrikes in Doha, Qatar, targeting senior Hamas negotiators engaged in ceasefire discussions.
In a social media post, Katz wrote, “Israel’s security policy is clear – Israel’s long arm will act against its enemies everywhere. There is no place where they can hide.” He further threatened that “anyone who participated in the massacre on 7 October will be brought to justice,” emphasizing that all accused militants will be “targeted” regardless of location.
The strikes on Qatari soil represent a reckless escalation, violating the sovereignty of a US ally and a key mediator in regional peace efforts. The Qatari government condemned the attacks as “cowardly” and a “blatant violation of international law,” while Hamas condemned the killings and condemned Israel’s refusal to pursue peace.
Critics warn that Katz’s threatening rhetoric and Israel’s expanding military actions risk destabilizing an already volatile region, potentially sparking wider conflict beyond Gaza. This policy highlights an aggressive posture that disregards diplomatic norms and international law, targeting civilian populations and political negotiators alike.
