Gaza Health Ministry reports 131 children among victims as food blockade worsens humanitarian crisis.

The Gaza Health Ministry has reported that at least 370 Palestinians have died from Israeli-induced starvation since the start of the conflict in October 2023, including 131 children. Over the past 24 hours, three more people died due to severe malnutrition as the blockade continues to restrict essential food, water, and medical supplies into Gaza.

August alone saw 185 starvation-related deaths, marking the deadliest month since the war began. Humanitarian agencies warn that without an immediate and urgent flow of aid, the situation could worsen drastically, particularly affecting vulnerable groups such as young children and pregnant women.

The blockade and ongoing conflict have created a man-made famine situation described as a “failure of humanity itself” by UN officials. The health system in Gaza is overwhelmed, with malnutrition rates and hunger-related deaths escalating amid collapsing infrastructure and restricted aid.
