Israel is causing serious and lasting injuries to Palestinian children with US support

UN data reveals 40,500 Palestinian children in Gaza wounded since October 2023, with over half left disabled; CAIR calls US “actively complicit” in crisis.
The Council on American-Islamic Relations (CAIR) has sharply criticized the United States for “enabling” Israel’s military campaign in Gaza, citing new United Nations data showing the catastrophic impact on Palestinian children. According to the UN Committee on the Rights of Persons with Disabilities, at least 40,500 Palestinian children have suffered war-related injuries since October 2023, and more than half now live with disabilities.
CAIR’s statement accuses the US government, under both Biden and Trump administrations, of fueling Israel’s actions through continuous weapons shipments and diplomatic support, saying: “Our government is responsible, pure and simple.” The organization also called on American citizens to demand an end to this policy and warned that “history will not forget the children whose lives were destroyed – nor those who stood by and allowed it to happen.”
UN officials and other international experts have strongly condemned Israeli attacks on schools, medical clinics and aid centers. With tens of thousands of children suffering not only physical wounds but also psychological trauma and deprivation, calls for urgent humanitarian action continue to mount from global advocacy groups.
