In the inaugural session, JIH Vice President Maulana Waliullah Saeedi Falahi urged scholars to move forward in unity, putting aside sectarian and ideological divisions.
Dr. Mohammad Razi-ul-Islam Nadwi, Secretary of the JIH Sharia Council, explained that the workshop’s main objective was to remind scholars of their responsibilities and to encourage cooperation beyond sectarian lines.

Over five days, 12 sessions were held covering 21 key topics related to national issues, challenges facing the Muslim community, and the social and intellectual role of scholars. Distinguished speakers included JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini, JIH Vice Presidents, and several noted intellectuals and public figures.

Two special sessions introduced the vision and activities of Jamaat-e-Islami Hind. JIH Secretary General T. Arif Ali spoke about the organization’s founding principles, while Deputy Secretary General Mohiuddin Shakir explained its various fields of service. Participants also toured JIH departments and institutions located on the headquarters campus.

The closing session featured an open discussion, where participants raised questions and shared feedback. JIH leaders addressed their queries and reaffirmed the importance of collaboration among scholars.

In his concluding address, JIH President Syed Sadatullah Husaini emphasized that the true reconstruction of the Muslim Ummah begins with the Kalima Tayyiba (the declaration of faith). He outlined six key points for scholars to focus on:

  1. Islam provides complete guidance in all aspects of life.
  2. Scholars must address neglected areas of social concern.
  3. Jurisprudential and intellectual debates should reflect moderation and contemporary understanding.
  4. Ulema must recognize and counter modern ideological challenges.
  5. They should use modern technology for preaching and reform.
  6. Scholarly judgment should always balance insight with moderation.

He called for building a new generation of thoughtful, moderate, and effective scholars capable of providing intellectual and moral leadership to the community.

The workshop concluded with a unanimously adopted declaration urging unity among Ulema and calling on them to present Islam’s message of truth and justice while working together to solve the community’s challenges. Participants expressed deep appreciation for the programme and pledged to implement its lessons in their future work.
