IndiGo to Give ₹10,000 Travel Vouchers to Passengers Hit by Major Flight Disruptions
The relief applies to travellers whose flights were heavily delayed or cancelled between December 3 and 5.

IndiGo on Thursday announced that it will offer travel vouchers worth ₹10,000 to passengers who were severely affected by large-scale flight delays and cancellations between December 3 and 5. The airline has been dealing with major operational disruptions over the past few days.
According to the statement, IndiGo acknowledged that many passengers were left stranded for long hours at several airports during the three-day period due to heavy congestion and operational challenges.
“To support our customers who faced significant inconvenience, we will offer travel vouchers worth ₹10,000. These vouchers will be valid for any IndiGo flight for the next 12 months,” the airline said.
This additional compensation is separate from the mandatory refund and compensation required under DGCA rules. As per government guidelines, travellers whose flights were cancelled within 24 hours of departure are entitled to compensation ranging from ₹5,000 to ₹10,000, depending on the scheduled flight time.
IndiGo, the country’s largest carrier, has also come under regulatory scrutiny due to the disruptions. Authorities have instructed the airline to cut its winter schedule by 10 percent to stabilise operations. Before the issues began on December 2, the airline was operating around 2,300 flights daily.
