The Indian Nawayath Community Qatar (INCQ) has successfully completed its executive committee elections for the 2026–27 term, marking a significant milestone in community governance.
The elections took place on Friday, January 16, 2026, at Al Muntaza Park in Doha, immediately following Juma prayers. A strong turnout of jamat members gathered to elect their representatives for the coming term.
Digital Voting System Ensures Smooth Process
The voting process was conducted entirely through a mobile application, making it convenient and efficient for all participants. In a thoughtful move, members who were outside Doha on election day were given the option to vote remotely, ensuring maximum participation.
Out of 150 registered members, 89 cast their votes, resulting in a healthy turnout of 59.33%. Results were announced immediately after voting concluded.

The 18-member executive committee has been formed through a carefully planned structure:
Three members were retained from the outgoing committee to maintain continuity: Razeen Ruknuddin, who served as Election Commissioner, along with Aqib Subedar and Maulana Yahya Barmaver.
Twelve positions were filled through the democratic election process, with 17 candidates competing for these seats. The top vote-getters were Abul Rub Ismailji with 86 votes, followed closely by Tabish Gawai (83 votes) and Eibad Shoupa (82 votes). The President will nominate three additional members at a later date to complete the full executive body.
