Imam Abdullah Al-Qarafi to Lead Lunar Eclipse Prayer at the Prophet’s Mosque On Sunday
The General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques has announced that Sheikh Dr. Abdullah Al-Qarafi will lead the lunar eclipse prayer (Salat al-Khusuf) at the Prophet’s Mosque in Madinah.
The prayer is scheduled to take place on Sunday evening, 15 Rabi Al-Awwal 1447 AH, corresponding to September 21, 2025, at 8:45 PM local time, God willing.
Muslims are encouraged to observe this special prayer whenever a lunar or solar eclipse occurs, following the tradition of the Prophet Muhammad ﷺ, who instructed believers to remember Allah through prayer, supplication, and seeking forgiveness during such celestial events.
The event will take place under the supervision of the Agency for Imams and Muezzins Affairs.
