Heavy Rains Displace Over 11,000 People Across Seven Malaysian States
The annual monsoon season has brought torrential rain, affecting nearly 4,000 families nationwide.

Malaysia – Heavy rains have caused widespread flooding across Malaysia, affecting more than 11,000 people. On Monday, the National Disaster Management Agency confirmed that residents in seven different states are currently struggling with rising floodwaters.
According to the agency’s latest report, exactly 11,009 people from 3,839 families have been impacted by the storms. The affected states include Kedah, Kelantan, Penang, Perak, Perlis, Terengganu, and Selangor.
Flooding is a common problem in Malaysia, especially along the country’s east coast. It usually happens during the annual monsoon season, which runs from October to March. During these months, heavy storms frequently force thousands of residents to leave their homes for safety.
While the current situation is serious, the numbers are currently lower than they were at this time last year. In November of last year, severe rains caused major flooding across six states, displacing more than 37,000 people in just one week.
