Headmaster Arrested After Viral Video Shows Him Savagely Beating 9-Year-Old Student
Chitradurga: Police have taken a teacher into custody after a year-old video of him assaulting a young boy at a residential school went viral, sparking massive public anger.

Chitradurga, Karnataka: A headmaster from a Sanskrit residential school in Naikanahatti village has been arrested after a disturbing video of him brutally assaulting a nine-year-old student surfaced on social media. The teacher, identified as Veeresh Hiremath, was taken into custody by the Naikanahatti police.
The incident reportedly took place a year ago at the Sanskrit Vedadhyayana School. The viral clip shows Hiremath mercilessly kicking and beating the young student. The alleged reason for the vicious attack was that the boy had used a phone to call his parents.
While the assault happened last year, the video only began circulating recently, leading to widespread outrage and demands for justice. Following the public outcry, the Math’s Executive Officer, Gangadharappa, filed a formal complaint. Based on this, police registered an FIR and arrested Veeresh Hiremath.
Sources have confirmed that the victim, who was a Class 3 student at the time, left the school immediately after the assault last year and obtained a transfer certificate. The investigation is ongoing.
