Haneef Welfare Association Youth Wing Holds Program on “Silent Trap Destroying Today’s Youth”
Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadwi addresses challenges facing today’s youth; Sabina Maktab students awarded for reading excellence.

The Youth Wing of the Haneef Welfare Association (HWA) organised a special youth awareness program titled “Silent Trap Destroying Today’s Youth” on Sunday, 23 November 2025, after Isha Salah at Sayyidina Umair Jumma Masjid in Haneef Abad. The event began with the recitation of the Qur’an and a naat, followed by a keynote address by Maulana Abdul Aleem Khateeb Nadwi, Imam and Khateeb of Jamia Masjid Bhatkal. A large number of youth and residents from Haneef Abad and nearby areas attended the session.
In his address, Maulana Abdul Aleem reminded the youth that Allah commands believers to remain conscious of Him, know their purpose in life, and remember the Day of Judgment. He stressed that the downfall of any community begins not with external threats, but with moral and spiritual decline from within. According to him, many Muslim youth today are losing their identity, purpose, and connection with Allah due to weakened faith, the influence of secular school environments, excessive exposure to modern media, and the erosion of traditional family upbringing.
He explained that technology, social media, and negative peer influences are shaping young minds more than parents or religious teachings. This, he said, has contributed to a culture of unrestricted freedom, weakening family ties, discipline, and respect for elders. When a person forgets accountability to Allah, careless behaviour follows whether in earnings, food, or private actions. Maulana Abdul Aleem reminded the youth that nothing is hidden from Allah, and even the earth will testify to one’s deeds. He concluded by expressing concern over the growing pursuit of quick wealth and worldly pleasures, which has replaced honesty, hard work, and halal earnings values that once brought peace and unity to Muslim families.
During the event, students from Sabina Maktab were awarded prizes for their monthly book-reading competition featuring Seerah books, Islamic history, and story collections. The top achievers were:
- Rashid S/o Moula Karani, who read 2357 pages across 39 books
- Abubakar S/o Vasiullah Hallare, who read 2309 pages across 22 books
- Anas S/o Musaddique Hallare, who read 1962 pages across 38 books
Additionally, Anas Hallare, a has produced his first and remarkably impressive work on the topic of Seerah. What makes his effort particularly noteworthy is that he independently selected the topics and contents. With the support of his siblings, he also undertook the typing and designing of the work with great dedication and hard work.

The Youth Wing of HWA conducts weekly educational and motivational programs every Sunday for students and young people, inviting scholars and educators from the community to address different topics.
