The Global Sumud Flotilla continues its historic journey to Gaza, announcing through social media that its lead vessels are now just 366 nautical miles (678 kilometers) away from the besieged territory. Organizers expect the fleet to arrive in Gaza within three to four days, though a “high-risk zone” awaits in only two days, and activists are calling for heightened global vigilance and solidarity during this crucial stage.

Despite setbacks—including mechanical failures and engine trouble on some ships, such as The Family Boat near Crete—the flotilla’s numbers have grown, with two new boats joining to make a total of 44 vessels currently coordinating south of Greece’s Dodecanese islands.

Supported by international activists and protected by Italian and Spanish naval frigates, the mission seeks to break Israel’s long-running naval blockade and bring humanitarian aid and medical supplies to Gaza.

The Sumud Flotilla’s leadership emphasized its unwavering determination but appealed for increased support from people around the world as they approach the dangerous segment of their route. Recent incidents, including previous interceptions, drone strikes, and diplomatic tensions, highlight the risks faced by all participants.

As the fleet presses forward, its campaign continues to capture global attention, underscoring the urgency of humanitarian relief for Gaza and the courage of those determined to reach its shores despite formidable obstacles.
