Gaza’s Survival is a Testament to Palestinian Steadfastness, Not Western ‘Peacemaking’
While world leaders take credit for the truce, the real reason it happened was the incredible courage and survival of Gaza's people.

After two years of war, a ceasefire has begun in Gaza. World leaders like the US President are calling it a “peace deal” and taking credit for stopping the fight.
But the truth is, Gaza survived this war on its own strength. The people of Gaza did not need saving—they needed the world to stop sending weapons and supporting the attacks against them.
For two years, while bombs fell and children went hungry, the people of Gaza never gave up. They filmed what was happening and shared it with the world, showing the reality no one could ignore. Their determination to survive, even when alone, is what truly forced this ceasefire.
Now, these same world leaders who supplied weapons during the war are calling themselves “peacemakers.” This is like starting a fire and then claiming to be a hero for putting it out.
The way forward must be different. There must be:
- A full stop to weapons being sent
- Freedom for Palestinian prisoners
- Help to rebuild Gaza, controlled by Palestinians themselves
- Equal rights and freedom for all
The children of Gaza have earned this moment of peace through their suffering. The world must not forget what happened here or return to how things were before. True peace means justice and freedom, not just a pause in the fighting.
