Gaza Death Toll Surpasses 70,000 as Israeli Attacks Continue Despite Truce
Two children killed in a drone strike east of Khan Younis, with over 535 ceasefire violations documented since October.

The Palestinian death toll in Gaza has crossed the grim milestone of 70,000, the Health Ministry in the enclave announced on Saturday, as Israeli attacks persist despite a US-brokered ceasefire that took effect last month.
According to the Ministry, at least 70,100 people have been killed and more than 170,900 wounded since the war began on October 7, 2023.
The ongoing violence was underscored on Saturday when an Israeli drone attack on the town of Bani Suheila, east of Khan Younis, killed two Palestinian children. Medical sources at the Nasser Medical Complex identified the victims as two brothers, Juma and Fadi Tamer Abu Assi, who succumbed to critical injuries from the strike.
Witnesses reported that the attack occurred near al-Farabi School, in an area located beyond the agreed “Yellow Line” boundary established in the ceasefire agreement.
Throughout Saturday, Israeli military operations continued with ground, naval, and air attacks reported in several areas, including the Tuffah neighborhood in Gaza City, eastern Rafah, and al-Qarara, northeast of Khan Younis, where three Palestinians were injured.
The director of Gaza’s Government Media Office, Ismail al-Thawabta, stated that 535 Israeli violations have been documented since the truce began, warning that the “humanitarian situation in Gaza is deteriorating at an unprecedented rate.”
