Gaza Crisis Ongoing, Yet India Sends Its Largest-Ever Business Delegation to Israel
Over 100 Indian companies participate as both nations formally launch Free Trade Agreement talks.

Despite Israel’s continued military operations in Gaza and growing international criticism, India has sent the largest business delegation in its history to Israel. During the visit, the two countries signed documents formally launching negotiations for a Free Trade Agreement (FTA).
According to reports, more than 100 representatives from leading Indian companies took part in the delegation. The participants belonged to sectors including technology, pharmaceuticals, agricultural technology, automotive industries, construction, and online commerce—making it India’s biggest-ever business mission to Israel. Through business forums and CEO-level meetings, corporate leaders from both nations explored future partnership opportunities.
India’s Minister of Commerce and Industry, Piyush Goyal, met Israeli officials and signed an agreement to officially begin FTA negotiations. Ministers from both countries confirmed the development, calling it a significant step towards boosting trade, investment, and technological cooperation. The government expects FTA discussions to progress quickly and be completed in two phases.
This diplomatic and economic move comes at a time when Israel faces global condemnation for ongoing attacks in Gaza and repeated violations of ceasefire agreements. Countries including Bolivia, Colombia, Cuba, and Malaysia have imposed sanctions on Israel, while international organisations continue to call for accountability over alleged war crimes.
Even as global pressure mounts, India has chosen to expand its economic engagement with Israel. New Delhi maintains support for a two-state solution, but its abstention from several UN resolutions and restrictions on pro-Palestine demonstrations reflect a cautious and strategic approach.
