Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar): With Eid approaching, residents of Bhatkal are once again expressing concern over frequent power outages in the town, especially during the holy month of Ramadan.

Although electricity supply continues in several parts of the town, locals say intermittent outages have become a regular issue throughout Ramadan, affecting both household routines and business activities.

According to residents, this is not a new problem. They claim that similar disruptions occur almost every year in the days leading up to Eid, with power supply becoming increasingly unstable and outages happening more frequently.

People are particularly concerned that the reasons cited for these outages often remain the same. Authorities usually attribute them to issues such as damage to main power lines or fallen trees affecting supply. While occasional technical faults are understandable, residents question why such problems repeatedly occur during important occasions like Ramadan and Eid.

Electricity demand typically rises during Ramadan, as people wake up early for Suhoor and remain active late into the night for prayers and other activities. This makes a consistent power supply crucial for homes, mosques, shops, and businesses.

Taking the matter seriously, members of the Majlis Islah wa Tanzeem met officials of HESCOM to highlight the difficulties faced by the public. They urged the authorities to take immediate steps to resolve the issue.

Residents have called on electricity officials to ensure proper maintenance of power lines and timely repairs to prevent disruptions, especially during the festive period.

As Eid draws closer, people remain hopeful that the concerned authorities will take effective measures to stabilize the power supply and provide relief to the public.
