Fisherman’s Body Recovered from Bindoor Beach After Drowning in Arabian Sea Near Bhatkal

Bhatkal, September 1 : The body of a fisherman who went missing during a fishing trip in the Arabian Sea near the Mawin Korva port has been recovered from the Kiru Manjeshwar beach in Bindoor, Udupi district.
The deceased has been identified as Manjunath Satu Goda, 51, a resident of Idgunji village in the neighboring Honnavar taluka. According to police, Manjunath went fishing on August 26 from Mawin Korva port, aboard the Seri Sagar Persian boat, but he disappeared suddenly during the night.
His family reported him missing to the Bhatkal Suburban Police Station after he did not return home. Early on the morning of August 30, his body was found washed ashore at Kiru Manjeshwar beach under the jurisdiction of Bindoor Police Station.
The Bindoor police have registered a case regarding the incident. The body was taken to Bindoor Government Hospital for post-mortem examination and was subsequently handed over to the family members.
