Fire Breaks Out Near Talha Colony in Bhatkal, Prompt Action Prevents Major Damage
Fire brigade brings blaze under control in open field behind Women’s Centre; no casualties reported.

Bhatkal: Panic briefly gripped parts of Bhatkal on Wednesday evening after a fire broke out in an open field near Talha Colony, close to the Women’s Centre. The incident occurred at around 7 pm, when dry grass in the field suddenly caught fire and began spreading rapidly.
Seeing the flames grow, residents in the surrounding area became concerned, fearing that the fire could reach nearby houses. Local people initially tried to control the fire on their own, but the fast-spreading flames made it difficult to contain.
The fire brigade was immediately alerted and rushed to the spot. After considerable effort, the team managed to bring the fire under control, preventing it from spreading further. Thanks to the timely response, major damage was averted.
According to local residents, the exact cause of the fire is still not known. Several locals, including Aslam, Dawood, Nasif, Nasir, Faisal, and others, actively assisted the fire brigade during the operation. Their efforts were appreciated by people in the area.
No injuries or loss of property were reported in the incident.
