FIR Filed Against RSS Leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for Hate Speech Targeting Muslims
The RSS leader is accused of delivering a provocative and communal speech during a public event in Puttur, spreading hatred and disturbing public peace.

Mangaluru (Puttur): Karnataka Police have registered a case against senior RSS (Rashtriya Swayamsevak Sangh) leader Kalladka Prabhakar Bhat for allegedly making a hate speech targeting Muslims and making derogatory remarks against women during a public event in Puttur district.
The case was filed following a complaint by a local resident, who alleged that Bhat made inflammatory statements on October 20 while addressing a Deepotsava (festival of lights) programme held at Upalige village.
According to the Puttur Rural Police, the speech was later broadcast on the Kahle News YouTube channel. During his address, Bhat allegedly made remarks that promoted communal hatred, insulted women, and posed a threat to public peace.
An FIR (No. 118/2025) was registered on October 25 under various sections of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita (BNS) — the new Indian penal code relating to promoting enmity between communities, insulting religious beliefs, and disturbing public order.
The complaint stated that Bhat made derogatory comments against both Hindu and Muslim communities, using religion and voting patterns to incite division among people.
The Deepotsava event, organized by local groups, featured Bhat as the chief guest. Police said they have obtained the video recording of his speech as key evidence and that an investigation is underway.
This incident comes shortly after Union Minister Giriraj Singh sparked controversy in Bihar’s Arwal district, where he allegedly called Muslims “traitors” and incited the crowd with communal slogans — drawing widespread criticism.
Rising Cases of Hate Speech in Karnataka
In recent months, several RSS and BJP leaders in Karnataka have faced allegations of delivering hate speeches and promoting communal polarization. Earlier this year, the High Court granted conditional relief to another RSS leader accused of making divisive statements.
Political analysts say such remarks are deepening communal polarization in the state and harming social harmony.
