February 1–7, 2026 | 13–19 Sha‘ban 1447 AH | Weekly Reserve Imams Assigned for Daily Prayers at Masjid al-Haram
Masjid al-Haram announces the official reserve (backup) imams for the five daily prayers during the week.

The Agency for Imams and Muezzins Affairs, under the General Presidency for the Affairs of the Two Holy Mosques, has released the weekly schedule of reserve (backup) imams for Masjid al-Haram in Makkah. The schedule is valid from Sunday, February 1 to Saturday, February 7, 2026, corresponding to 13–19 Sha‘ban 1447 AH.
According to the official schedule published on the approved poster, the reserve imams (الإمام الاحتياطي) for the five daily prayers are as follows:
- Fajr Prayer (Dawn):
Sheikh Dr. Yasser bin Rashid Al-Dossary - Dhuhr Prayer (Noon):
Sheikh Dr. Yasser bin Rashid Al-Dossary - Asr Prayer (Afternoon):
Sheikh Dr. Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Shamsan - Maghrib Prayer (Sunset):
Sheikh Dr. Badr bin Mohammed Al-Turki - Isha Prayer (Night):
Sheikh Dr. Al-Waleed bin Khalid Al-Shamsan
These reserve imams are appointed to lead prayers in case of necessity or absence of the regular imam, ensuring uninterrupted congregational prayers at the Grand Mosque in Makkah. Thousands of worshippers attend each prayer in person, while millions around the world follow the prayers through official Haramain live broadcasts.
