EU foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas coordinates with regional leaders as bloc withdraws non-essential personnel.

European Union foreign policy chief Kaja Kallas has described the rapidly unfolding developments across the Middle East as “perilous” and called for the protection of civilians and adherence to international law.
In a statement, Kallas said she had spoken with Israel’s Foreign Minister Gideon Saar and other ministers in the region, and was coordinating with Arab partners to pursue a diplomatic path forward.
The EU official also confirmed that the bloc’s consular network was coordinating departures for EU citizens as non-essential personnel are being withdrawn from the region amid heightened security concerns.
