District-Level Seerah Competition Held at Iqra Arabic School, Mangaluru
Over 110 students from schools across Dakshina Kannada took part in contests celebrating the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad.

Mangaluru: A district-level inter-school competition on the Seerah the life and teachings of Prophet Muhammad (peace be upon him) was held at Iqra Arabic School, Mangaluru. The event was organised by Al Lajnatus Saqafiyyah, the student association of the institution, and witnessed enthusiastic participation from more than 110 students representing various schools across Dakshina Kannada district.
The competitions focused on different aspects of the Prophet’s life, values, and message. Students from Diamond International School, B.C. Road; Sneha Public School, Pakaladka; Kanachur Public School, Derlakatte; Jamiya Educational Institutions, Krishnapura; and Iqra Arabic School, Mangaluru, bagged top honours in several categories.
Chief guest Maulana Yahya Tangal Madani of Hawwa Juma Masjid, Bolangady, inspired the students to dream big and work hard. “Without great ambitions, one cannot succeed either in this world or in the Hereafter,” he said.
Guest speaker Mufti Zubair Nadwi, Khateeb of Jamiya Masjid, encouraged students to remain motivated even if they did not win prizes, reminding them that true success lies in consistent effort and sincerity.
Ashfaq Ahmad, Chairman of Sanmarga Publications, addressed the gathering and highlighted that the Prophet’s exemplary character serves as a guiding light for all humanity. He urged students to embody those values in their daily lives.
Prizes were also presented for an essay competition conducted by Iqra Arabic School. Among 37 entries, Sidharth, a third-year B.A. student from Government University College, won the first prize along with a cash award of ₹5,000. He also read his essay before the audience. Azmiya of Darul Ayman secured the second prize, while Hajira Abid Manna of Hira College and Aysha Humaira of Baraka College shared the third position.
The event concluded with a vote of thanks delivered by Maulana Saalim Nadwi, Principal of Iqra Arabic School. Participants of the essay competition have been requested to collect their certificates from the school office.
