Dense Fog Disrupts Operations as 81 Flights Delayed at Bengaluru Airport
Two flights diverted and several services delayed during early morning low-visibility conditions.

Bengaluru: A thick layer of fog disrupted operations at Bengaluru’s Kempegowda International Airport on Thursday morning, leading to delays in 81 flights. The low-visibility conditions were reported between 4:44 am and 8:00 am on November 27.
Airport authorities said the delays ranged from minor hold-ups to longer disruptions, with the maximum delay recorded at 69 minutes. Of the affected flights, 33 exceeded the 15-minute delay threshold defined by the Directorate General of Civil Aviation (DGCA).
Two flights were diverted during the fog-heavy window. At 7:21 am, Air India Express flight IX 2923 from Mangaluru to Bengaluru was rerouted to Chennai, while Air India flight AI 2653 from Delhi was diverted to Cochin at 7:47 am.
Although normal operations resumed after visibility improved, authorities noted that some minor delays may continue through the day as a ripple effect of the early disruptions.
