Delhi Scrap Trader Mohammed Arib Found Dead in Faridabad Forest; Two Arrested
Police say the 31-year-old businessman was allegedly lured for a business deal, robbed, and killed following a financial dispute.

The body of 31-year-old Delhi businessman Mohammed Arib, who had been missing since early March, was discovered in a forested area of Haryana’s Faridabad on Tuesday. Police suspect that the scrap trader was murdered following a financial dispute related to his business.
According to reports, Arib was allegedly called to Ballabhgarh in Faridabad under the pretext of being shown goods for a potential scrap deal. Investigators believe that once he arrived, the accused tied him up and killed him.
Police have arrested two suspects in connection with the case, identified as Rahul and Babu.
Officials said the accused allegedly robbed Arib of around ₹2.5 lakh in cash and his scooter after the murder. His body was later dumped in a forest area in Faridabad.
When the body was recovered, police said it was in a severely mutilated condition. Authorities believe the remains had been lying in the forest for several days before being discovered, with parts of the body partially eaten by animals.
Earlier, Arib’s family had filed a missing person complaint at Chandni Mahal Police Station in Delhi late on March 7 after he failed to return home. Family members told police that he had left for Faridabad the same day carrying approximately ₹2.5 lakh in cash for business purposes.
During the initial investigation, police found that Arib’s last known contact was a 25-year-old man named Harsh. Harsh was detained for questioning and reportedly told investigators that he had handed his mobile phone to another man, Rahul, who was staying in a rented house in Faridabad.
Based on this information, police registered FIR No. 180/26 under Section 140(3) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, related to abduction, at Chandni Mahal Police Station on March 10. A police team was then sent to Faridabad to track down the suspects.
When officers reached Rahul’s rented residence, they learned that he had already vacated the property and returned to his hometown in Aligarh, Uttar Pradesh. Police later located him there and brought him in for questioning.
During preliminary interrogation, Rahul allegedly confessed that Arib had been murdered in Faridabad and claimed that another man, Babu, was also involved in the crime. Investigators believe the killing was linked to a financial dispute connected to their scrap business dealings.
Police officials said that since both the suspected crime scene and the location where the body was recovered fall under the jurisdiction of Faridabad Police, the case has now been transferred to them. The arrested suspects have been handed over to Faridabad Police, who will continue the investigation and further legal proceedings.
