Bengaluru, November 13 – The central government has swung into action following a car bomb explosion near Delhi’s Red Fort area. Prime Minister Narendra Modi chaired an emergency security meeting yesterday evening to discuss the blast investigation, security arrangements, and potential terrorist networks.

The incident has sparked heated political debate, with the Congress party questioning the timing of the Prime Minister’s Bhutan visit. Karnataka minister Priyank Kharge took to Twitter with a sharp comment, saying, “Their duty should have been completed first – meaning their friend Gautam Adani’s deal should have been secured.”

In his tweet, Kharge highlighted the sequence of events: “Delhi blast. PM reaches Bhutan. Agreement signed.” He alleged that Adani Power Druk Green Bhutan secured a ₹6,000 crore hydropower project deal on the same day as the explosion.

The BJP has strongly condemned the Congress leaders’ statements, calling it shameful to politicize such a serious matter. A BJP spokesperson accused Congress of historically maintaining a soft approach toward terrorism, referencing past controversies.

Meanwhile, Karnataka Chief Minister Siddaramaiah’s remark – “It’s unclear why bombs explode during elections” – has also stirred controversy. The BJP criticized this as an “irresponsible statement.”

Kharge launched another attack on Union Home Minister Amit Shah, stating: “Kashmir, Manipur, Delhi, Pulwama, Pahalgam, Uttar Pradesh – Amit Shah has failed everywhere but takes no responsibility.”

Security agencies are actively investigating the Delhi blast. No organization has claimed responsibility yet. Sources suggest the attack could be part of “white-collar terrorism” by Pakistan-based group Jaish-e-Mohammed, possibly in retaliation for the “Sindoor Operation.”

The government has tightened security across the capital, with additional forces deployed at sensitive locations.
