Lucknow: A condolence meeting was held at the central mosque of Darul Uloom Nadwatul Ulama, Lucknow, to honor the memory of the esteemed professor, Dr. Nazeer Ahmed Nadwi, who passed away recently. The gathering was attended by senior figures of the institution, teachers, and a large number of students.

Speakers at the event paid rich tribute to Dr. Nazeer’s academic and teaching services, his humble character, and his dedication to his students. They described his passing as a significant loss to the world of Islamic scholarship.

Maulana Syed Bilal Hasani Nadwi, the administrator of Nadwatul Ulama, presided over the session. He remembered Dr. Nazeer as a respected voice in the academic community who left a lasting impact on both curriculum development and research. “His life was a true reflection of the prophetic mission, marked by honesty, integrity, and purpose. His absence will be felt for a long time,” he said.

Maulana Alauddin Nadwi, Dean of the Faculty of Arabic Language, highlighted how the late professor guided a new generation in the study of language and literature. He praised Dr. Nazeer for turning his classroom into a practical center for research and for instilling in his students a passion for reading and methodical work.

The Dean of the Faculty of Shariah, Maulana Khalid Nadwi Ghazipuri, described Dr. Nazeer as a beautiful blend of scholarly balance, moderation, and moral dignity. He noted that Dr. Nazeer always emphasized character-building alongside education, holding sincerity as his standard at every stage.

Maulana Ammar Hasni Nadwi, the General Inspector of Nadwatul Ulama, added that Dr. Nazeer was more of a mentor than just a teacher, winning hearts through his quiet, serious, and service-oriented approach. He affirmed that the institution and its affiliates are praying for him and that true loyalty lies in continuing the scholarly work he began.

Other teachers and graduates also shared their memories, recalling Dr. Nazeer’s hard work, his kind treatment of students, and his deep commitment to the institution.

The meeting concluded with prayers for the deceased, asking for the elevation of his status in the afterlife and for strength and patience for his family.
