Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News) — The annual cultural programme of Madrasa Arabia Ta’leem-ul-Qur’an, a 50-year-old institution in Tenginagundi, was held on Thursday after Isha. Students and young girls presented a variety of engaging performances that received enthusiastic applause and prizes from the audience.

Children performed several items, including an interesting dialogue in Nakhuda dialect on the theme “Why a Drug-Free Society Is Important,” and another dialogue on the importance and relevance of madrasas in today’s world. Both presentations were widely appreciated.

A Friday sermon delivered by Ahmad ibn Ateequr Rahman Dangi Nadvi of the first class added a special spirit to the programme. A powerful speech by Aleefa bint Salman Bengali Nadvi of the third class also drew praise.
Among the first-class girls, Farhah bint Shaukat Ali Abu spoke about the virtues of memorising the Asma-ul-Husna, while Sudus bint Abdul Khaliq Farash Nadvi impressed listeners by reciting all the names from memory. A mash-up performance by Mahvish bint Fazlullah Marjikar Nadvi and Afra Safa bint Zameer Mulla further enlivened the event.

Children as young as three-and-a-half also took part, presenting action songs that added charm to the evening. Students from the Hifz section recited the final rukoo of Surah Al-Mudathir in the styles of different qaris. Many other students and girls presented well-prepared items and were applauded by the guests and audience.

During the programme, special guest and guardian of the madrasa, Maulana Muhammad Ilyas Nadvi, recalled the early days when girls from Tenginagundi memorised the Qur’an and led Taraweeh in Bhatkal. He said the madrasa’s influence now reaches far beyond the region, extending across India and abroad.

Maulana Maqbool Ahmed Nadvi, Rector of Jamia Islamia Bhatkal, offered suggestions for the madrasa’s continued development, noting that it serves not only as a learning centre but as an institution beneficial to all sections of society. He encouraged the community to remain connected to scholars and madrasas for religious guidance.

Maulana Talha Nadvi, Nazim of Jamia Islamia, expressed his happiness over the services of the madrasa, while former Rector Maulana Farooq Qazi Nadvi proposed holding a grand event to mark the madrasa’s 50-year completion.

Earlier in the day at 9 a.m., a farewell programme was held in honour of graduates from the madrasa and Madrasa Al-Muhsinat. This year, 16 students graduated from the Alimiyat section and two from the Hifz section, while 10 girls completed their memorisation of the Qur’an. Two boys — Aribaz ibn Ibrahim Bengali Nadvi and Mustajab ibn Mansoor Ali Usmani — also completed Hifz. All were honoured with awards.

At 2 p.m., the girls’ cultural programme was also held.

The event began with welcome remarks and an introduction of guests by the madrasa’s deputy principal, Maulana Ishaq Dangi Nadvi, who also highlighted the institution’s services. Maulana Ateequr Rahman Dangi Nadvi, along with Mustajab ibn Mansoor Ali Usmani and Saeedur Rahman ibn Ateequr Rahman Dangi Nadvi, conducted the compering.

Among those present on stage were the madrasa’s founder and director Hafiz Abdul Qadir Dangi, president of the madrasa Mohammad Ghouse Bengali, president of the Central Muslim Jamaat Tenginagundi Ali Adam Abu, along with other dignitaries and community members.
