Cosmos Sports Centre Celebrates Grand Golden Jubilee Tournament in Bhatkal
The Golden Jubilee cricket tournament opened with colour and excitement at the historic YMSA Ground.
Bhatkal: The Golden Jubilee celebrations of the Cosmos Sports Centre were inaugurated in a grand ceremony at the Taluka Ground (YMSA) in Bhatkal on Friday, 21 November 2025, at 5 p.m. The entire ground was beautifully decorated for the occasion, creating a festive atmosphere. Cricket lovers, along with captains and players from various teams, attended the event in large numbers.
A Glimpse Into 50 Years of Service
During the opening ceremony, the organizers presented a brief overview of the 50-year history of the Cosmos Sports Centre. President Maulana Ismail Anjum Gangawali Nadvi and General Secretary Maulana Taimur Gawai Nadvi highlighted that Cosmos has contributed not only to sports but also to religious, moral, educational, and social fields over the decades. They described the center as a dynamic and exemplary institution that continues to uphold its long-standing traditions.
Remarks from the Chief Guest
Chief Guest Mohammed Yunus Qazi, President of Anjuman Bhatkal, expressed his happiness over the Centre’s five decades of dedicated service. He said, “The youth of Cosmos Sports Centre are active not only in Bhatkal but also in Gulf countries, always supporting social and community initiatives.”
He encouraged young people to stay connected with Anjuman and pursue excellence in education.
Ismail Jubapu, General Secretary of the Markazi Khalifa Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen, also addressed the gathering, calling the history of Cosmos Sports Centre’s service “a shining chapter.”
A Memorable Opening Ceremony
Captains and players of all participating teams were present, adding colour and vibrancy to the event. A large number of cricket fans also filled the venue. Cosmos officials were present both on and off the stage, contributing to the lively atmosphere.
The Golden Jubilee Convenor Abu Ubaid Is-haqi and his team were praised for their excellent arrangements, ensuring the success of the entire program.
The cricket tournament will begin from next day at the same YMSA Ground and will continue for one month, featuring exciting and competitive matches throughout.
