Conductor’s License Cancelled After Muslim Woman Denied Entry on Private Bus in Tamil Nadu

In a troubling incident in Tamil Nadu, a Muslim woman wearing a burqa was reportedly denied entry onto a private bus despite holding a valid ticket. The bus, operated by VVS Tours and Travels, was en route to Keelapatnam in the Thoothukudi district when the conductor allegedly stopped the woman from boarding.

A video of the confrontation quickly spread across social media platforms. In the footage, the woman can be seen questioning the conductor about why she was being singled out. The conductor claimed he was acting on instructions from the bus owner and even shared the owner’s contact number with her.

The viral video sparked widespread public outrage and drew attention from the Tamil Nadu State Transport Corporation (TNSTC), which responded promptly. In a firm move condemning the discriminatory action, TNSTC cancelled both the conductor’s license and the permit of the bus operated by VVS Tours and Travels.
