“All those who come to government hospitals are poor and middle-class people. To ensure that they also receive the best healthcare services, my goal is to build one government medical college and one multi-speciality hospital in each district,” he said.

The Chief Minister emphasised that building infrastructure alone is not enough. “We will also appoint specialist doctors accordingly. The government has already decided to fill vacant posts,” he added, underlining the importance of both physical infrastructure and human resources in delivering effective healthcare.

Siddaramaiah also reiterated his government’s commitment to social justice, saying that creating equal opportunities and better facilities for the marginalised is the only way to bridge inequalities in society.

“Only when development reaches the last sections of society can the development of the nation be complete,” he said. “We are designing welfare programmes to achieve this.”

He also highlighted the impact of the government’s flagship five guarantees, stating that they have boosted purchasing power, raised per capita income, and economically empowered women. “When the poor become economically stronger, the foundations of caste-based inequality begin to weaken,” he said.

Addressing the recent floods in north Karnataka, the Chief Minister said that eight districts have received over 95% excess rainfall, causing widespread damage to crops. Around 10 lakh hectares of farmland have reportedly been affected. Siddaramaiah assured that government officials had promptly provided compensation and assistance to the affected farmers.
