Car Catches Fire on Navunda Flyover in Byndoor
A moving vehicle was completely destroyed by flames near Kundapur on Thursday afternoon, but both occupants escaped unhurt.
Byndoor, November 20 – A car traveling from Katkere in Kundapur towards Byndoor suddenly caught fire on the Navunda Flyover on Thursday afternoon. The vehicle was completely engulfed in flames and reduced to ashes within minutes.
The incident occurred around midday when the car was moving along the highway. The driver, Nitesh (31), and passenger Chandu (73) managed to escape from the burning vehicle just in time, avoiding any injuries.
According to reports, thick smoke billowed across the road, forcing authorities to temporarily halt traffic on the highway. The situation created significant disruption as visibility dropped due to the dense smoke.
Firefighters from Byndoor Fire Station rushed to the scene and brought the blaze under control after a brief operation. The cause of the fire is still under investigation.
A case has been registered at Byndoor Police Station regarding the incident. Police are looking into the circumstances that led to the vehicle catching fire while in motion.
