Burglars Loot Gold and Cash Worth Over ₹5 Lakh From Bhatkal Home
Thieves entered a house on Kidwai Road after breaking a rear window and escaped with gold ornaments and cash.
A burglary was reported from Kidwai Road in Bhatkal after unidentified thieves broke into a house and stole gold jewelry and cash worth more than ₹5 lakh.
The incident took place during the early hours of May 8 at the residence of Nahid Akhtar. According to reports, the burglars entered the house around 12:50 am by smashing a glass window located at the back of the property. After gaining access, they opened the door from inside and searched the house.
The thieves allegedly targeted an almirah and stole nearly 55 grams of gold ornaments estimated to be worth around ₹5.5 lakh. In addition to the jewelry, ₹10,000 in cash was also reported missing.
Police reached the spot soon after receiving information about the theft and carried out a preliminary inspection. A case has been registered at the Bhatkal Town Police Station, and further investigation is underway to trace the accused.
