The Dubai BPKL contingent extended a cordial welcome to the Royal Nawayath Oman Kabaddi Team ahead of the Bhatkal Pro Kabaddi League in Dubai, highlighting a shared commitment to passion, teamwork, and brotherhood across Gulf borders. Organizers noted that this inaugural community-focused event aims to revive traditional kabaddi culture and bring together Bhatkali talent on one stage.
The first-ever Bhatkal Pro Kabaddi League (BPKL) will be staged in Dubai on August 31, 2025, at the Indian Model School Ground in Garhoud, with matches scheduled from morning to evening. The one-day tournament features six teams, including four UAE-based sides and squads representing Saudi Arabia and Oman, reflecting regional participation from across the Gulf.
The league lineup includes Tea Party Officials, Crown Stone Real Estate, Unique Riders, Auz Paltan, BMJ Saudi Dammam, and Royal Nawayath Oman, each bringing a mix of experienced and emerging players. Organizers emphasized that this first edition focuses on Bhatkali-origin players, with future editions expected to broaden participation to neighboring regions after a successful debut.
Tournament organizers underscored kabaddi’s role in building unity, trust, and resilience, positioning the event as a platform to inspire youth and reconnect them with a traditional sport. With auctions shortlisting standout players and strong interest from Gulf-based Bhatkali communities, the competition is expected to deliver spirited matches and renewed community engagement.
Recent lead-up activities, including player auctions and team announcements by BPKL organizers and Bhatkal Bulls Dubai, have built excitement for the opening day. Community media and organizers have framed the event as a celebration of talent, cross-border camaraderie, and shared identity within the Gulf.
