The Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) has strongly rejected Congress leader Rahul Gandhi’s allegations of widespread electoral fraud in the Haryana Assembly elections, calling his claims “false and baseless.”

On Wednesday, Union Minister for Parliamentary Affairs Kiren Rijiju held a press conference to counter Gandhi’s accusations. The Congress leader had earlier claimed that 25 lakh voter entries in Haryana were “fake” and that his party’s victory was “stolen” in last year’s state polls. Gandhi insisted he had “100 per cent proof” to back his allegations.

Rijiju dismissed these claims outright, accusing Gandhi of working with “anti-India forces” to tarnish the country’s democratic reputation. “He is playing games to defame India,” the minister stated.

The BJP leader also criticized Gandhi’s approach to elections, saying the Congress leader travels abroad during poll campaigns, fails to connect with voters on the ground, and then complains after losing. “He cannot work hard or live among the people,” Rijiju said.

Addressing Gandhi’s allegations about the Election Commission, Rijiju pointed out that proper channels exist for raising concerns about voting irregularities. “If there is any problem with the voting process, one must report it to the Election Commission or go to court. But he never does it,” the minister said.

The BJP has accused Gandhi of questioning the Election Commission’s credibility simply to hide his party’s failures and poor performance in the state elections.

The controversy has reignited the debate over electoral transparency, with both parties standing firm on their positions.
