Bihar Exit Polls 2025: NDA Poised for Big Win, Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj May Draw a Blank
Nine exit polls predict a sweeping victory for the ruling NDA alliance led by Nitish Kumar, while newcomer Jan Suraaj struggles to make an impact.

PATNA: The ruling National Democratic Alliance (NDA) is projected to secure a decisive victory in the Bihar Assembly Elections 2025, according to multiple exit polls released on Tuesday evening.
Nine agencies- Matrize, JVC, Chanakya Strategies, TIF Research, P-Marq, People’s Insight, Dainik Bhaskar, DV Research, and Peoples Pulse — have forecast a clear NDA sweep, with Chief Minister Nitish Kumar likely to return to power alongside the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) and Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas).
The polls suggest a disappointing debut for Prashant Kishor’s Jan Suraaj Party, which may fail to open its account in the 243-member Assembly.
Bihar voted today in the second and final phase of polling, covering the fate of 1,302 candidates, including several ministers in Nitish Kumar’s government. Around 3.7 crore voters cast their ballots, with voter turnout crossing 67.14% (provisional) — the highest-ever for the state in an Assembly election. The first phase on November 6 had also witnessed a strong 65% turnout.
Vote counting will take place on November 14.
In the 2020 elections, Nitish Kumar’s Janata Dal (United) had suffered a major setback, winning only 43 seats, largely due to a rebellion by Chirag Paswan’s faction of the Lok Janshakti Party. This time, Paswan’s LJP (Ram Vilas) is back in the NDA fold, contesting as a junior ally.
Both JD(U) and BJP are contesting 101 seats each, sharing the remaining seats with smaller coalition partners.
While the exit polls indicate strong voter support for the NDA, analysts caution that exit polls often differ from actual results, and the final outcome will only be known once votes are counted.
