Bhatkal (Fikrokhabar News): In Bhatkal, a new educational initiative aimed at strengthening children’s religious and moral upbringing was officially launched with the unveiling of the “Yemeni Laptop,” a project developed by the Children’s Literature Institute. The ceremony took place after Asr prayers at Rabita Hall in the presence of local scholars and community elders.

The specially prepared laptop contains selected Surahs from the Holy Quran, Hadith collections, daily prayers, Islamic poems, and other beneficial learning material. The program is designed to make religious education engaging for children by combining learning with interactive digital content.

Speaking at the event, Maulana Dr. Abdul Hameed Athar Nadvi, President of Idara Adab-e-Atfal, described the initiative as a timely response to modern challenges. He noted that today’s generation is increasingly drawn toward mobile phones and digital distractions. Instead of only criticizing these trends, he said, the community must offer constructive alternatives. According to him, this laptop provides a practical way to teach children Quranic recitation, prayers, Hadith, and Islamic values through a medium they naturally enjoy using. He also pointed out the shortage of quality Islamic digital content in Urdu and said the project aims to bridge that gap.

Qazi Jamaat-ul-Muslimeen Bhatkal, Maulana Abdul Rab Khateeb Nadvi, emphasized that Islamic education begins in childhood. He explained that Islam encourages early training in worship and moral behavior, including developing the habit of prayer from the age of seven. Referring to the Prophet’s example, he highlighted the importance of kindness and character-building in raising children. He praised the Children’s Literature Institute and expressed hope that providing a healthy environment and meaningful Islamic content would help children grow into responsible future leaders.

Maulana Khaja Nadvi Madani spoke about the importance of early mental development, calling childhood a sensitive stage when lifelong habits and ideas are formed. He observed that Western societies have invested heavily in digital content shaped by their values, and stressed that Muslims must also create high-quality alternatives from an Islamic perspective. He described the Yemeni Laptop as not only beneficial for Bhatkal, but also valuable for Urdu-speaking communities across India and abroad, calling it an investment in future generations.

Other speakers, including Rabita Society President Umar Farooq Musba, Majlis Islah and Tanzeem President Inayatullah Shahbandari, Secretary Maulana Abdul Raqib MJ Nadvi, and former General Secretary Mohiuddin Altaf Kharori, also shared their views. They congratulated the organizers and called the initiative an essential step for the present era.

The program was presided over by Maulana Abdullah Nadvi, editor of the monthly magazine Phool. A large number of respected community members and residents attended the ceremony.
