Bhatkal: Two Held for Temple Donation Box Theft in Heble

Bhatkal: Bhatkal Rural Police have arrested two men in connection with a theft at the Shri Arikal Jatakeshwara Temple in Heble village on the night of September 14.

According to the police, the accused allegedly broke open the temple hundi (donation box) and stole the money kept inside. A case has been registered at Bhatkal Rural Police Station under sections 500, 331(4), and 305(2) of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita.

The arrested men have been identified as Ameer, son of Hasan Byari from Shirali, and Mohammad Imran, son of Abdul Gaffar from Bhatkal. Police said both were produced before the court and have been remanded to judicial custody.

During the investigation, police recovered property worth ₹2,21,295, which included the stolen cash and two motorcycles reportedly used in committing the crime.
